The Kyiv Opera group was formally established in the summer of 1867, and is the third oldest in Ukraine (after Odessa and Lviv). Today, the Kyiv Opera Company performs at the National Opera Theatre of Ukraine named after Taras Shevchenko in Kyiv.

The theatre is famous for its classic operas and ballet performed by professional and recognized all over the world dancers and singers.
